That is me above. Kerim Nur is my Muslim name, my non-Muslim friends call me by my birth name, Kevin. I am an American of Japanese descent who converted to Islam as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Karatau, Kazakhstan back in April, 1999. What a journey it has been. I ran an older blog that focused on my Expat life in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I decided it was time to fork that blog to a newer one so I can focus more on writing about my experiences as a Muslim and Islam. Hence the Kerim Nur Blog was launched!
The Kerim Nur Blog will start out looking at my life before I became a Muslim then eventually to my early days. Then I will move it up to present day and cover issues that many convert Muslims may have to deal with as they start their transition to a lives as Muslims. Sometimes I envy those born as Muslims. Learning about Islam was easy if you were raised as a Muslim at home. As a convert, you can expect to be alone as a Muslim at times. If fact, that is how I converted, all by myself. I will explain more in this blog.
I will be updating this page more in the future. I just launched the site on February 28, 2021. For now, I plan to update my blog 2-3 times per week, inshallah. I hope you enjoy it.
My other blog is called Matsunaga’s Odyssey which I just relaunched. I will keep this blog up to date as well.
